Meet the cast and crew from the Blackfriars Guild fall production of A MIDSUMMER NIGHT’S DREAM – opening tonight, Wednesday, November 8th in the Blackbox Theatre!

Grab some friends and come see one of Shakespeare’s most beloved comedies! The show is guaranteed to captivate the audience with the intertwined stories of six bumbling actors, four lovestruck teenagers, one royal wedding and the infinite magical realm of the fairies.

SOPHIE ACUNA is a freshman and new to the Blackfriars Guild. She attended All Saints Catholic School where she appeared in “Annie,” “Alice in Wonderland” and “Aladdin.” She is a member of the Bishop Lynch choir program and serves as a stage manager for this production.

THEODORE AMBROSE (THEDE) is a graduate of St. Bernard of Clairvaux School where he appeared in “A Curtain Going Up.” A junior, Thede made his Blackfriars debut in last year’s production of “High School Musical.” He is president of the Film Club, and a member of Rho Kappa, NEHS, NHS and Mu Alpha Theta. Thede served as the Freshman Class President and he is currently a member of the TAPPS Academic Team. He is a stage manager and a Serf in this production.

ZOE BEYER plays Moth, one of the Faeries in A MIDSUMMER NIGHT’S DREAM. A senior, Zoe attended Dallas Christian School. She has appeared in four Blackfriars productions, including “The Wedding Singer,” “Curtain Going Up,” “Once Upon a Mattress” and “High School Musical.” Zoe is a senior and member Model UN, Powerlifting, NHS, NEHS, Rho Kappa, Mu Alpha Theta, LULAC and the National Honor Society. She also serves as the Drum Major for the BL Band.

AUDREY CLAY is a sophomore appearing as Cobweb, one of the Faeries. She graduated from St. Patrick School where she appeared in “Beauty and the Beast,” “The Little Mermaid,” “Suessical,” “Shrek, the Musical” and “Fiddler on the Roof.” She is a member of BL Ambassadors, Choir and Harmony Show Choir and she is the president of the Shakespeare Society. This is Audrey’s third Blackfriars production, having appeared in “High School Musical” and stage-managing “The Hollow.”

LILY DONALD is a junior appearing in her fourth Blackfriars Production. Previous credits include “Curtain Going Up,” “The Hollow” and “The Importance of Being Earnest.” Lily came to BL from Travis TAG where she appeared in “Aladdin and His Sister,” “Shalloween,” “Animal Farm” and “Footloose.” She is playing the role of Mustardseed, one of the Faeries in this production. Lily is a member of the Board of BL Ambassadors, National Honor Society, NEHS, Rho Kappa, Mu Alpha Theta, Spanish National Honor Society, and Film Club. She has twice received the Best Cameo Award from the Blackfriars Guild.

GRACE FORD is a freshman who graduated from Mary Immaculate School where she appeared in “Peter Pan,” Annie” and “Mary Poppins.” This is her first Blackfriars production and she plays a Faerie/Attendant. Grace is a member of the BL Choir, Harmony Show Choir, Encore and Friarside Chat. She is also a member of the International Thespian Society.

EAMONN GERAGHTY is Philostrate in his sixth Blackfriars production. A senior from St. Pius X School, Eamonn has appeared in “Curtain Going Up,” “Lo and Behold,” “The Hollow,” “The Importance of Being Earnest” and “High School Musical.” He is a member of Model UN and has earned honors for Most Improved Actor and Best Actor in a Cameo Role.

RYAN GERRON is a junior returning to the stage as Hermia. Previously she was an extra in “Curtain Going Up” and stage manager for “The Hollow” and “The Importance of Being Earnest.” Ryan attended St. Monica School where she appeared in “Peter Pan,” “Snow White” and “Animal Farm.” She is a member of NEHS, Shakespeare Club and Film Club.

HELEN HALL is the head stage manager for A MIDSUMMER NIGHT’S DREAM – her fourth Blackfriars production. Previous credits include “The Wedding Singer,” “Once Upon a Mattress” and “High School Musical.” Helen can be seen next spring as Vi Moore in “Footloose.” Her previous experience includes “Willy Wonka Jr.,” “Seussical Jr,” “Bye Bye Birdie” and “Beauty and the Beast.” Helen is a member of NHS, NEHS, Mu Alpha Theta, Brigade, A Cappella Choir and Women’s Select Choir.

ZACH HOGUE is a senior from St. Thomas Aquinas School appearing as Oberon in his fifth Blackfriars production. Previous credits include “Curtain Going Up,” “The Hollow,” “The Importance of Being Earnest” and “High School Musical.” Zach is a member of the Mock Trial Team, BL Ambassadors, the Presidential Leadership Council, the Shakespeare Society and the Film Club. He has earned recognition from the Blackfriars Guild as Most Improved Actor, Best Actor in a Supporting Role and Best Actor in a Leading Role.

NOAH KILPATRICK is a graduate of Zion Lutheran School where he appeared in “The Lady Pirate of Captain Bree” and “Northwoods Nonsense.” A sophomore, he was in the cast of last spring’s “High School Musical.” Noah is a member of A Capella Choir, Men’s Ensemble, Sports Broadcasting, Film Club, Mu Alpha Theta, Table Tennis and the Tennis Team. He was recently named 3rd chair in the bass section of the All Region Mixed Choir.

LUKE LANE is Demetrius in his fifth Blackfriars production. A graduate of St. Thomas Aquinas School, he was previously seen in “Once Upon a Mattress,” “The Hollow,” “High School Musical” and “The Importance of Being Earnest.” Luke received awards for Best One Line Delivery and Best Male Performer in a Supporting Role from the Blackfriars Guild.

CHRIS LUKE is a freshman appearing as Theseus in his first Blackfriars production. He is a graduate of St. Pius X Catholic School.

STELLA KASTANEK is a freshman from St. John’s Episcopal School where she was in two middle school productions. She is playing Peasblossom, one of the Faeries, in A MIDSUMMER NIGHT’S DREAM. Stella is a member of Best Buddies and plays on the JV Soccer Team.

HELENA LYKKE is a senior appearing as Egeus in her third Blackfriars production; previous credits include “Once Upon a Mattress” and “High School Musical.” As a student at St. John’s Episcopal School she was a member of the cast of “Beauty and the Beast.” Helena is the President of the German Honor Society and the Poetry Club, Historian of Rho Kappa, and a member of NHS, NEHS, Mu Alpha Theta, Best Buddies, Student Council and on the BL Ambassador Board.

MACKENZIE MARSAW plays Titania in her first Blackfriars Production. A sophomore from Fellowship Christian Academy, Mackenzie has also appeared in productions with Shakespeare in the Park and Junior Players. She is a member of the BL Brigade and For Our Children.

ANNABELLA MESA is a sophomore from St. Mark Catholic School, appearing as Hippolyta in her first Blackfriars Production. Her previous experience is as a mouse in “Alice in Wonderland.” Annabella is a member of the National English Honor Society, A Cause for Paws and For Our Children.

BEAU MILLS was home-schooled before coming to BL. In this production (his fifth with the Blackfriars Guild) he plays Lysander. Other appearances include “Once Upon a Mattress,” “The Hollow,” “High School Musical” and “The Importance of Being Earnest.” Previous credits include Roger in the Dallas Summer Musicals Academy production of “Grease.” Beau is on the Presidential Leadership Council and is a member of BL Ambassadors. In addition, he is the president of the Film Club. He has been named Funniest Cast Member, Best Male Dancer and Best Actor in a Featured Role by the Blackfriars Guild.

ALEXA MORONES is a St. Pius X School graduate playing the role of Starveling the Tailor.

MAI-VI OBERSKI plays Snug the Joiner in her first Blackfriars production. A freshman, Mai-Vi attended St. Mark Catholic School where she appeared in “Alice in Wonderland,” “Joseph the Dreamer,” “The Emperor’s New Clothes” and “Right Before Your Eyes.”

AMY OLVERA is a senior appearing in her third Blackfriars production. She was the temptress in the 2016 production of “The Hollow,” and a cast member of “High School Musical” last spring. Amy is a member of BL Ambassadors, A Cappella Choir and the French National Honor Society. She was voted the recipient of the Best Line Delivery Award by the Blackfriars Guild.

BEN SCHWARTZ attended White Rock Montessori, where he attended multiple theater camps prior to becoming a freshman at BL. Ben is a member of the Volleyball Club, the Study Abroad Club and the Tennis Team.

KATE SPRINGS plays Peter Quince in her second Blackfriars production. A sophomore, Kate was a member of the tech crew for “The Hollow.” She is a member of the Swim Team, BL Ambassadors, Science National Honor Society, National Spanish Honor Society, National English Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, Shakespeare Society, and the TAPPS Academic Team.

LIVVY TRAWEEK is a freshman from The Westwood School and plays a Faerie in her first Blackfriars show. Previous credits include “Loves Labours Lost” and “Taming of the Shrew.”

JEFF TRUITT is Puck in his first Blackfriars appearance. While a student at St. Patrick School, Jeff appeared in “Peter Pan,” “Beauty and the Beast,” “The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe” and “Fiddler on the Roof.”

AVERY VAUGHAN has been in several musicals and acting classes, and has served on the technical crew for the Blackfriars productions of “The Hollow” and “The Importance of Being Earnest.” Avery is a sophomore and is a member of the Film Club.

DAVID VILLARROEL is a freshman from St. Patrick School, playing the role of Flute in his first Blackfriars production. Previous credits include “The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe” and “Beauty and the Beast Jr.” David is a member of Best Buddies and A Cause for Paws.

BAILEY WIEGERT is a stage manager for A MIDSUMMER NIGHT’S DREAM, her first Blackfriars experience. She attended Mary Immaculate School where she appeared as Mrs. Potts in “Beauty and the Beast,” Mrs. Darling in “Peter Pan,” June in “Annie,” Witch in “Into the Woods,” Fiddler in “Fiddler on the Roof” and Elfaba in “Wicked.” Bailey is a member of the BL Brigade, Cause for Pawsnand Friarside Chat. She is a Junior Thespian and has earned first place honors twice in the Diocesan Speech/Drama Meet.
