Dear Bishop Lynch Family and Friends,

We have seen pictures of the devastation inflicted on South Texas as a result of Hurricane Harvey. Many have fled their homes on short notice simply to survive and have relocated to evacuation centers in Dallas. They have immediate and long term needs and we would like our community to help meet their immediate needs while here in Dallas.

We invite each family to create five (5) Care Kits that we can deliver for use at the evacuation centers. If each BL family could supply five kits, we could deliver 5,000 packages for immediate use.

A Care Kit is simple and easy. In a quart size (un-labeledZiplock bag, please place a travel size of the following:

  • Bath soap
  • Tooth brush
  • Tooth paste
  • Shampoo
  • Comb
  • Tissue
  • Socks

Students can deliver the Care Kits to their Theology classrooms beginning as early as tomorrow, Tuesday, August 29th.

If we can accomplish this now, members of the Bishop Lynch community can deliver them on Friday, September 1st. This is an easy way our Friar family can serve together to help those in need.

We will address some long term needs of our neighbors shortly. However, if you would like to donate to the relief fund, Catholic Charities has set up a website: https://ccdallas.org/donate/

In addressing both the short term needs and the long terms, we always accompany all our work with prayer.

God Bless,

Chris Rebuck
President
